ABOUT

Seboi Publishers (Pty) Ltd is a 100% Black-owned book publishing company founded in January 2012. Bokgaga village, Limpopo Province, South Africa is our home; and we publish trade and educational materials developed by new and established authors in all 11 South African Languages. Some of our titles have been approved by the national Department of Basic Education and prescribed for public and private schools.

 

We offer publishing solutions such as, editting, proof-reading, ISBN acquisition and book desing (cover design and interior layout) at affordable prices.

 

We boast the leadership of a seasoned and award-winning author in the name of our Managing Director Mr Samuel Machitela, better known as M.S. Machitela, who has been in the industry for more than 19 years.

Mokgale Samuel Machitela started writing in the mid-nineties and his first published work is a collection of Sepedi Home Language poems titled 'Ge Di Boa Shakeng' (2003). Then followed 'Sello Sa Leseana' also a collection of Sepedi HL poems (2006); 'Meropa Le Ditshela', a collection of Sepedi HL poems (2006); 'Ga Di Mphelele', Sepedi HL novel (2009); 'Mahlalerwa', Sepedi HL Drama (2011); 'Menotobidi', a collection of Sepedi HL poems (2012); 'Phamphamadiba', a collection of Sepedi HL short stories (2012); 'Tiego', Sepedi HL novelette (2013); 'Ba Ntlhoile', Sepedi HL novelette (2013); 'Kgalagalo Tsa Setu', Sepedi HL novel (2013); 'Ga Ke Nyake Phoso', Sepedi HL Drama (2014) and 'Mahlogedi A Theto', a collection of Sepedi HL poems (2015).

 

He won an award for Best Poet of the Decade for 'Ge Di Boa Shakeng' (2006 - Lingua Franca Publishers Innauguration); Best Sepedi Novel for 'Ga Di Mphelele' (2010 - MNET Litetry Awards); ILPP Authors' Award for 'Ga Ke Nyake Phoso' (2015 - South African Book Development Council).

 

Despite heading the company, Machitela is a hands-on kind of a person who enjoys doing all aspects of book development, production, marketing and sales.
